Help Me Make a Difference
On 8th June I will join senior business leaders and top chefs at the NZ International Convention Centre for Auckland City Mission - Te Tāpui Atawhai's Cook Off.
For one night, we will come together to cook a delicious four-course meal for over 200 Mission guests, people experiencing homelessness or facing a daily struggle to put food on the table.
Together, our collective goal is an ambitious $400,000. I am proud to be part of The Cook Off - but I can't do it without you.
EVERY SINGLE WEEK, over 1,600 warm and nutritious meals are served in Haeata, the Mission’s community dining room, to people who are living on the streets or in substandard accommodation without any ability to cook.
My fellow participants and I aiming to raise enough funds to ensure that the Mission is able to provide over 25,000 meals for people at Haeata this winter.
Please support by making a donation and together we can ensure that people who are experiencing homelessness are able to receive at least meal each day.
Every donation will make a difference!
$1600 raised
$5008 raised

$10000 raised! Ka rawe!
Even more meals! Thank you and all your supporters!
This amount supports 1,250 people with a hot nutritious meal at Haeata this winter - huge impact!
Congratulations on reaching your goal!

The Why!
Friday 17th AprMy “why” for getting involved is pretty simple, but deeply personal. Food is something most of us take for granted, it’s routine, it’s comfort, it’s connection. But for many people in our communities, especially through winter, it’s uncertain. That uncertainty affects more than just hunger, it impacts dignity, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging.
I’ve always believed that strong communities are built on how we show up for people when things are tough. This is a chance to do exactly that. A warm meal might seem small, but it can mean stability, care, and a moment of relief in what might otherwise be a really hard day.
Being able to contribute alongside Downer, and to rally support for something so tangible, is something I take seriously. The target of $15,000 isn’t just a number, it represents real people, real meals, and real impact. If we can push beyond that, even better.
I’m looking forward to the challenge and most importantly, making a meaningful difference together. I am extremely appreciative for the opportunity and your support to help our people.
Ngā mihi nui,
Mathew Anderson
