Help Me Make a Difference
On 8th June I will join senior business leaders and top chefs at the NZ International Convention Centre for Auckland City Mission - Te Tāpui Atawhai's Cook Off.
For one night, we will come together to cook a delicious four-course meal for over 200 Mission guests, people experiencing homelessness or facing a daily struggle to put food on the table.
Together, our collective goal is an ambitious $400,000. I am proud to be part of The Cook Off - but I can't do it without you.
Aotearoa is recognised and celebrated internationally for the quality, freshness and ethical production of our food produce - but not everyone gets to experience that quality food - let alone a basic, nutritious meal.
That food production plays a big part in driving our economy on the global stage, and I believe that it’s just as important that we make sure all New Zealanders have access to nutritious food, no matter their circumstances.
I'm very proud to say that Beca was founded here in Tāmaki Makaurau more than 100 years ago, and that we still have our global headquarters right here, in Wynyard Quarter.
Beca is part of the fabric of Auckland, and our purpose is to make everyday better - for the communities we work with around the globe and for everyone who calls this city home.
That’s why the work the Mission does is so important. Every single week more than 1,600 warm and nutritious meals are served in Haeata, the Mission’s community dining room, to people who are living on the streets or in substandard accommodation without any ability to cook.
My fellow participants and I aiming to raise enough funds to ensure that the Mission is able to provide over 25,000 meals for people at Haeata this winter.
Please support by making a donation and together we can ensure that people who are experiencing homelessness are able to receive at least one meal each day.
