Will you help people doing it tough in our community?

1 in 5 New Zealanders can't afford enough food...

...and they worry about where the next meal is coming from!


With the current cost of living crisis, people experiencing poverty or struggling to make ends meet are finding that once housing, transport, power, and other essentials are paid for, there is little or no money left for food. As a result, many are going without.

Every week, Auckland City Mission – Te Tāpui Atawhai’s Food Security team distributes hundreds of food parcels. In the year ending 31 December 2025, the Mission provided more than 32,000 food parcels.

The Mission’s Community Centre, Haeata, serves up to 350 meals every day, 365 days a year, to people who are living on the streets or do not have access to cooking facilities. For some, this may be the only meal they receive that day.

On Wednesday 10 June, our Executive Leadership Team will be cooking lunch for team members in support of the Mission’s food programmes. Every dollar raised will go directly towards providing meals and essential support to people in our community experiencing food insecurity.
