WOULD YOU WALK 17KM TO GET FOOD...
..or healthcare, somewhere to wash or a safe place to rest?
Until Auckland City Mission - Te Tāpui Atawhai opened the inner-city hub, HomeGround, that’s what Kevin and others sleeping rough had to do daily.
Kevin used to walk over 17km most days to access the basics of life - food, shelter, healthcare.
By walking our city in The Big Mission Home, you will keep HomeGround open for people who are experiencing poverty and homelessness. You will change lives.

For many this meal is the only food they have each day.

...ensure our GPs and nurses can provide vital and affordable health care through our Calder Health Centre.
They care for over 2,000 patients who would otherwise go without medical care.
A SAFE PLACE FOR ALL
...keep HomeGround a safe place where people can connect with trained staff and services that will mean opportunities for better health, a permanent home and good nutritious food.
MONTHLY DETOX NIGHTS
...help people from all walks of life from across Tāmaki Makaurau to reduce their dependence on alcohol or drugs.
We have 15 beds in our social detox and people stay for two weeks.
Our service is always fully booked.
