WALK OUR CITY CHANGE LIVES

WOULD YOU WALK 17KM TO GET FOOD...

Kevin walked 17km a day

..or healthcare, somewhere to wash or a safe place to rest

Until the inner-city hub, HomeGround opened, that’s what Kevin and others sleeping rough had to do daily

Kevin used to walk over 17km most days to access the basics of life - food, shelter, healthcare.

By walking our city, you will keep HomeGround accessible for people who are experiencing poverty and homelessness. You will change lives.

YOU'RE IN GOOD COMPANY

FOR MORE THAN A CENTURY, THE AUCKLAND CITY MISSION - TE TĀPUI ATAWHAI HAS BEEN SUPPORTING PEOPLE IN GREATEST NEED, WITH AROHA AND RESPECT.

AND WE DO IT WITH THE HELP FROM PEOPLE LIKE YOU - THANK YOU.

Your Support Will...

300 MEALS A DAY

...help our community dining room, Haeata, continue to provide between 250 – 350 hot nutritious meals every day to people living on the streets.

For many this meal is the only food they have each day.

2000 HEALTHCARE PATIENTS

...ensure our GPs and nurses can provide vital and affordable health care through our Calder Health Centre.

They care for 2,000 patients who would otherwise go without medical care.

A SAFE PLACE FOR ALL

...give people a safe place to stay in the day.  Often people who are sleeping rough don't feel safe at night and get very little sleep due to feeling vulnerable and inadequate shelter.

HomeGround is a safe place and people also have an opportunity to connect with our staff for further support.

MONTHLY DETOX NIGHTS

...help people from all walks of life from across Tāmaki Makaurau to reduce their dependence on alcohol or drugs.
In one month*, we had 373 bed nights recorded in our withdrawl services. We have 15 beds in social detox and people stay an average of two weeks.

Help them on their journey to recovery in our social withdrawal (detox) service.
(*October 2024 - figure has not yet been audited).

WITH GRATEFUL THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS
