Hello!

I’m taking part in this year’s Auckland City Mission Cook Off to raise vital funds for an organisation under real pressure — and I’d love your support.

On Monday 8 June, I’ll be rolling up my sleeves and putting on a chef’s apron alongside other business leaders to prepare and serve a four‑course meal for people supported by the City Mission. I’ll be responsible for dinner for more than 200 people on the night — and I also need to raise $15,000. I’m still not sure which is the bigger challenge!

The City Mission is feeding more people than ever. At the same time, rising costs — especially fuel — are making it harder and more expensive to simply get food to the people who need it most. Every dollar spent on transport is a dollar not spent on food.

That’s why I’ve set a clear and practical goal.

If I reach my $15,000 fundraising target, NordEast will provide the City Mission with a Farizon electric van for six months, and we’ll cover the charging costs. This will significantly reduce their transport costs, allowing more funding to go directly into warm, nutritious kai — delivered with dignity, connection, and care.

Across the Cook Off, we’re collectively aiming to raise $400,000, which will provide 25,000 meals at Haeata, the Mission’s community dining room, this winter. I’m proud to be playing my part — but I can’t do it alone.
