The Cook Off 2025

Help Me Make a Difference

On 16th June I’ll be joining senior business leaders and top chefs at St Matthew in the City for The Cook Off.

For one night, we will come together to cook a delicious three-course meal for 150 Auckland City Mission guests, many of whom are experiencing homelessness or face a daily struggle to put food on the table.  It is more than just a meal; it’s about hope and a sense of community for those who need it most.

Will you help me whisk up hope, one dish at a time to make an even bigger impact?  I've committed to fundraising at least $10,000.  The more I raise the more people we can help.

EVERY SINGLE WEEK, over 1,600 warm and nutritious meals are served in Haeata, the Mission’s community dining room, to people who are living on the streets or in substandard accommodation without any ability to cook.

What is alarming is that as winter approaches, many people living on the streets will bear the brunt of the cold, wet and miserable weather, but Haeata will continue to be a safe, dry space offering meals and connecting people to essential Missions support.

My fellow participants and I are aiming to raise enough funds to provide 15,625 meals this winter.

By donating $320 you could provide 20 warm and nutritious meals in Haeata.
By donating $160 you could provide 10 warm and nutritious meals in Haeata.

Please support me in The Cook Off by making a donation.

A Message from Lin

Tuesday 29th Apr

I came to New Zealand as a teenager and was fortunate to start my journey working in a local supermarket. What began as a way to earn some pocket money and spend my spare time meaningfully has turned into an incredible 24-year journey within our Co-op — including 12 years as a proud store owner, from Four Square to New World. Now, I’m excited to continue this journey with PAK’nSAVE, bringing even more value to our culturally diverse communities.

What I value most from this experience isn’t just the hard work or the trade skills I’ve learned — it’s the people. Across both our FSNI centres and stores, I’ve been privileged to work with leaders and teams who show immense generosity and a deep commitment to their communities. I’ve been guided and inspired by senior owners, mentors, and Co-op leaders who have taught me to lead with respect, purpose, and a strong sense of community.

This year, I’m honoured to contribute to our Mission’s goal — and I need your support. It’s not about the size of the donation; it’s about the spirit behind it. Together, with pride, passion, and dedication, we can once again make a lasting difference for New Zealanders and our communities — with continuity and sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you so much for your support — it truly means a lot.
